Singapore Zoo Trip!

For those who plan to take their family/couple/mate/friends out for an enjoyable and worthwhile trip, i suggest you go to the Singapore Zoo! Especially those who live near Johor or KL.

If you don't have a car, take a bus from Larkin Bus Station Johor. I'm not sure how since i got there using a car ^_^ If you're young and adventurous, get on a bus! Saves your money for parking fee which if i'm not mistaken, was about 4SGD. (reload some more cash in your cash card!)

If you plan to go on a weekend, I advise you to wake up early. The traffic to the Malaysian and Sg immigration is horrible on weekends and trust me, you don't want to be stuck in the bus or car for an hour or so.

Upon arriving at the Singpore zoo, pay for your entrance fees according to your needs. The amount varies for the tickets. If you're not the type to walk for 2-3 hours, get the park hopper. BUT! I suggest you not to take it since that is the best way to explore the zoo to the fullest. I suggest you bring a big bottle of water for yourself since the weather can be hot so keep yourself hydrated.

Don't forget to take the Park Map from the workers near the entrance. If you missed it, you can just download it on your ipad/iphone of tabs here in pdf file.

The most famous and attractive animal they have is the tundra bear. It was huge and it's a year younger than me but it weighs about 400 tons. heheh... It's the wildest experience I've had in any Zoo before. This is probably the closest that I'll ever be to this enchanting beauty.

I really enjoyed the Splash Safari Show! The seals are so talented and they are a big show off, but hey, they deserve to be for being such intelligent creatures. But since I was too absorbed in watching them, I unfortunately had forgotten to take pics, heh..

There were so many different kinds of monkeys and chimps including the Borneo Orang Utan. The Elephants show was not as entertaining as the others but it is still a wonder how they managed to train those big animals to listen and help them do their dirty jobs. lol

There were some crocodiles too. But since I'm from the land where the second biggest crocodile in the world was caught, I'm not really surprised. But I managed to learn the physical differences of gators and crocs.

There was a white tiger but I did not manage to see it properly since it was sleeping. lol. But the Lions were really skinny looking and dring my visit, it was growling really loudly and it vibrates throughout the zoo.

The thing that I was so impressed about Singapore's zoo was how they managed to train and held naturally vicious hunters in the wild such as lions, baboons, tiger and chimps in an "open" area without them jumping and devouring small lil me. haha

Here are the white rhinos. Err, they're not entirely white but they are lighter than the normal ones.

Despite having big animals, they have also showcased some frogs, spider, Galapagos Turtle and also flamingo. They have lots of giant Arapaima monster Fish as well. Try checking it out for yourself!

I've never been to Universal Studio Singapore but I'm sure that the zoo is a really big hit for nature lovers like yours truly ;)

till next time!  =D

Laziness has finally come to an end

Salam..

As usual, when it's the mid term break, it is my time to relax, laze around and do things I wouldn't have time to do in my hostel!

So much has happened, not only to me but around me. I've finished my second semester with a mixed feelings of sadness, longing and anticipation for the final semester to arrive. And when it does, I'm sure it will hit me with its full force. *take that for being lazy* huhu

Laziness.. It's a habit/sickness/attitude!

Anyway.. I've found this melodramatic song.. For some reason, the lyric was what captivated me and made me sing it the way I like it since the original song was a bit slow.... Actually, I found the lyrics of this song FIRST before listening to the song... The song is by Fatin Shidqia, it's called "Aku Memilih Setia."

Sometimes it's difficult to understand why things happened, but someone told me to just let time decide. Don't think about it and let fate show us what has been planned for us by Allah SWT.

Ada banyak cara Tuhan menghadirkan cinta
Mungkin engkau adalah salah satunya
Namun engkau datang di saat yang tidak tepat
Cintaku tlah dimiliki

Inilah akhirnya harus ku akhiri
Sebelum cintamu semakin dalam
Maafkan diriku memilih setia
Walaupun kutahu cintamu lebih besar darinya

Maafkanlah diriku tak bisa bersamamu
Walau besar dan tulusnya rasa cintamu
Takkan mungkin untuk membagi cinta tulusku
Dan aku memilih setia

Inilah akhirnya harus ku akhiri
Sebelum cintamu semakin dalam
Maafkan diriku memilih setia
Walaupun kutahu cintamu lebih besar darinya

OOOuuu..oo..

Seribu kali logika ku untuk menolak
Tapi ku tak bisa bohongi hati kecilku
Bila saja diriku ini masih sendiri
Pasti ku kan memilih ... kan memilih kamu..uuu..

Inilah akhirnya harus ku akhiri
Sebelum cintamu semakin dalam
Maafkan diriku memilih setia
Walaupun kutahu cintamu..ooohh..
Walaupun kutahu cintamu lebih besar daa..darinya.

Well, how was the song? Loved it, right?? Aduiyai! Sejak bila la ai dgr lagu mcm ni.. hehe..

Till next time..

Morning blues~

I woke up today, feeling sad and anxious as it shall be one of the last moments I shall spend with my newfound close friends.. This is to those who have managed to crawl inside my heart and be my family...

Another meaningful 17 weeks have passed by, leaving me anxious to finish a third of what's left for my masters study. Many months ago, I was eager to leave UTM. Now, I am sad to leave those whom I have come to cherished. Again, thanks to those who have kept me in your prayers.

InsyaAllah, we shall meet again.

A lot of things have happened in such a short period of time and I wished all of them the best of luck in the future. Even though it is sad that you shall be busy with work, I know how much it means to us. Sacrifices have to be made.

I managed to spend a day in Singapore Zoo yesterday! I'll write about it once i get back home. Memories are meant to be kept and cherished!

Second Semester of Master in UTM

Assalamualaikum..

Another semester has started a few months ago in January and now it's nearing April!

How fast time flies when you're having fun. Right?

The first few weeks of lecture, there were many cancelled classes and so little assignments. Two of my core subjects are supposed to have mini projects that needs to be conducted in the lab. The lecturers told us it will commence in March. And guess what, it has not even started yet. Maybe the lab and chemicals are not yet readied.

Don't they (lecturers and all involved) care that once they think that we don't have enough time then they will then ask us to do EVERYTHING at one go? Class replacements, mini projects, analysis, assignments, presentations and tests? I mean, we have a course outline. Why can't they follow this properly?

Why bother giving us the course outline if you don't follow it?

Oh and test is based on e-books. Which are more than a hundred pages of tiny lil words.

Imagine all 60 plus of us are going to be 2 weeks from now.

Oh. Not forgetting that mid sem break is almost here. AND they have decided to pack us up with LOADS of work. Oh well. no rest for the wicked. Who says studying is easier than working?

Of course, there are benefits of this. Ada hikmah nya nanti. *positive thinking*

Enough of me venting my frustration.

What should you expect when you further your studies into postgraduate level?
1. Excellent time management: You gotta 'work' all around the clock. Of course, you should also have good time-management when you're working. However, postgraduate students must always be able to manage their time for classes (morning till night, i have class till 11pm), lab research work (if you have it... if not, consider yourself lucky!), discussion with group members, discussion with lecturers, studying, doing homework, assignments and of course having fun and enough rest.

2. Good communication skills: I have over 80% of foreign students in my classes and sometimes it pays to have good communication skills as language, slang and lifestyle may be different. Sometimes you have to be stern with some of your classmates or friends if they do not do the work assigned to them. Duh!

3. Determination: Even though you're going through a very difficult time during your studies, be diligent and stay strong! patience is the key, you'll definitely need a lot of it.

4. Good friends: Well, find good friends. Not those who only contact you in times of need.

So, those are a few tips and motivational words that I could share being almost a year in my master study. I guess it serves as a reminder for me, too.

When things are hard, think of God Allah swt, your parents, loved ones and good friends. Think about why you are pursuing your masters degree. InsyaAllah, you will be more focussed and less emotional.

Till next time.
